NCTAF Partners With Teach to Lead

The National Commission on Teaching & America’s Future (NCTAF) is proud to announce that we are officially a partner in Teach to Lead. We are excited to be a part of an initiative that recognizes teachers as the agents for change. Teach to Lead also promotes opportunities for teacher leadership that will ultimately change education and improve opportunities and outcomes for all students. The initiative is focused on teachers learning to lead from their classrooms rather than leaving the profession in order to seek leadership opportunities. NCTAF applauds this important direction for the profession and the progress that teachers have made in just one year through this initiative.

Teach to Lead recognizes so many of the principles that have been core to NCTAF’s mission of ensuring great teaching for every child. From recognizing that teachers need to be leading efforts in education, to providing time and space for collaboration, to creating vehicles for building networks and communities, Teach to Lead is making a huge difference in and for the profession.

We applaud the U.S. Department of Education and the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards for spearheading this initiative and recognizing the power of collective impact in driving momentum. The partners that you have brought together are impressive, and we are pleased to be among them and look forward to working together to support the teaching profession and the leaders within.
